Physical Description: Parul is from a British-Indian family - she’s got an average build and height (5’4), mid toned skin and very thick, graying wavy hair which she usually has in a ponytail or bun. She wears round glasses and dresses fairly hippie-ish slash ageing academic - outsize denim jackets and jumpers with shirts, mom jeans or corduroy. Her eyes are brown and she’s fairly youthful looking for her age, though her hair and smile lines give it away.

Occupation: Nuclear physics researcher and lecturer at Almagest (with a side hobby in making educational tik toks)

Personality: She’s eccentric and excitable and very personable - she loves people almost as much as she loves her work. She’s very sharp but also can be clumsy emotionally, and has a slightly scatterbrained approach to her work that can make her a little difficult to work with at times. Everything is last minute and her personal life is even more so- things get left undone a lot. Despite this, she’s got a huge heart and is very warm and caring, and the things she forgets or loses track of tends to be a side effect of her insatiable curiosity, which drives her to late night reading, dropping things halfway through and not being able to discuss anything but her current interest.

Backstory: Parul is British but moved to St Ray to work at Almagest researching in nuclear physics. Her family are mostly in the UK but she has relatives worldwide, although she doesn’t have a huge amount to do with them as they’re a quite competitive family. Her parents encouraged her interest in science but were less thrilled with her somewhat sloppy ways, and it’s not always the easiest relationship, but she does care for them both dearly - however infuriated they all get with one another.
