My real name is MacKay, but my online alias is "blue." I chose the nickname toward the end of my senior year of high school, because I was moving on to new things and wanted my name to reflect that.

But why "blue"?

It was around this time when I decided to create my first website. All records of this site are now gone; but the name I chose for it was "smile and be blue". Everything was done in shades of blue, with pictures of me. It was a somewhat sad site, with some of my less happy thoughts and dreams, old journal entries, posted up on it.

That site didn't last long, but the name stuck around. Soon after I changed my livejournal name to "and_be_blue", and my AOL/AIM screen name was quick to follow. I officially became "and be blue". I bought this website, eclectic blue, to reflect that name and that feeling. When I entered the dolling world, it was shortened to just "blue," and my site was called "dolls in blue [and other assorted colors]."

There are many different versions of the name, of course. On AIM I'm now "red handed blue," due to a fiasco with cancelling AOL and losing my screen name; my MSN account is under "red_handed_blue@hotmail.com". My g-mail address is be.blue.

I'm 21 years old, and a senior Classical Civilizations major at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticuit. My hometown is Dobbs Ferry, in Westchester, New York. After I graduate, I want to go for my MA in education so that I can teach Latin, French, or Math at a public high school. I want to take a bartending course this year so that I can work nights while I go to graduate school. I'm a member of the Alpha Delta Phi Society, and am quite crazy for my siblings there. I have a boyfriend and we've been together for about a year and a half.

I'm bipolar and opinionated, which can often be a dangerous combination, so I try to watch what I say...but sometimes I think people deserve what they get. My brother tells me that I argue in a quite obnoxious way - if I'm right, I'm right, and if I'm wrong, I phrase it in such a way that it's impossible to tell me I'm wrong. So beware.

I make my smileys backwards. (: I'm a cat lover. My hair color changes often, though these days generally stays in shades of red. I have 10 piercings; 8 in my left ear, one in my right, and one in the center of my lip. I want a tattoo.

This site is mostly dedicated to my pixel art - that's its main purpose, and that's why I'm putting it together. The design is mine, but the coding credit has to go to my brother because I'm a lazy bum, and he also created my fantastic blog.
